OIA US FARMGAP is a Good Agricultural Practices and Food Safety Certification program intended to allow farms, harvest operations, and packers develop and demonstrate a food safety and GAP compliance plan under a third party independent audit regime. With the passage of the Food Safety Modernization Act there are increased compliance requirements for farms, harvesters, and packers. The OIA US FARMGAP program assists operations in developing and proving compliance with these requirements. The standard will continue to evolve as provisions of the Food Safety Modernization Act are developed and implemented by the FDA.
